Welcome To
When it comes to dog-friendly beaches and scenic coastal walks, Hope Cove boasts some of South Devon’s finest. Head east along the cliffs towards Salcombe, where you’ll find Soar Mill Cove. This sheltered and secluded sandy beach is ideal for bathing and escaping the crowds. Pack a picnic and let your pooch enjoy tranquil surroundings that feature turquoise seas and craggy clifftops.
Head westerly for South Milton Sands, also known as Thurlestone Beach. It’s a spacious bucket and spade hotspot that’s famous for its clean waters and landmark Thurlestone Rock archway – a dramatic landmark that takes looks at its best during a bursting orange sunset. The beach is dotted with rock pools and the cafe offers a perfect spot for admiring the wildlife of the adjacent wetlands.
Bantham Beach is two miles farther along the coastal path from South Milton Sands. This popular lido is a hit with surfers and families and looks out across the famous Burgh Island and its sea tractor. While the main beach has restricted access to dogs, canine companions are allowed on River Beach, a large sandy area beside the estuary, all year round.
